Phaedon Stough

Phaedon Stough has over 18 years working with entrepreneurs and high growth tech start-up across APAC, EMEA and NA.  Founding Mitchellake in 2001 to help entrepreneurs scale their companies via human capital solutions.

Phaedon cofounded Innovation Bay with Ian Gardiner in 2004, which has become Australia’s leading angel network of tech investors and founders with over 3000 members nationally. Phaedon was on board of Pollenizer and went on to become its Chairman in 2009-11.

In 2012 established Innovation Bay in the Bay area, and later started The Australian Founders Network to help Aussie entrepreneurs living overseas collaborate, share experiences and support each other.  Phaedon has worked with hundreds of Australian founders and investors in helping them commercialise their ideas, build teams, raise capital and go to market.

Phaedon has deep networks across the Australian and San Francisco angel and venture capital markets.  He is an active investors and mentor, having invested in both (Australia’s leading incubator) and (Australia’s largest VC).

Phaedon has directly invested in Genos, which he helped commercialise out of Swinburne University and www.biteable, which is based in Hobart.

Phaedon has recently returned to Hobart after 5 years in San Francisco growing Mitchellake into the bay area at over 80%YOY.

Phaedon has a double major in Asian Politics from UTAS and a Honours degree in International Relations from Flinders University of South Australia.  He currently lives in Hobart with his wife Christina, daughter Lili, son Sam, dog Lucy and cat Maggie.   He is a passionate climber, but not a good one, fly fisher and loves all things adventure.
